Eco Insulation

R-Value
An R-value is the level of thermal resistance as tested in a laboratory. This thermal resistance depends on the number of air pockets in the insulation. Because air is a poor conductor of heat, the more air pockets the better. The higher the R-value, the more efficient the insulation.
Below is a table of all of the different thermal products for ceilings currently available. The R-value shown is the 'product R-value'. The Product R-value is the thermal performance the product provides without the assistance of any other building materials. Insulation products can also supply you with a System R-value. This is the R-value of the insulation once it is installed in the wall or ceiling, and takes into consideration the frames and plasterboard surrounding it. The Product R-value is the most accurate measure of a products performance.
